About Me
I’m Ryan — a father, husband, entrepreneur, and late-diagnosed autistic adult exploring how cognition, trauma, and meaning interact across a lifetime.
Before I understood my own neurodivergence, I lived through the early 2000s Oxycontin wave and spent the next two decades deeply engaged with substance use disorder recovery. That long span in trauma-informed, multi-modality environments gave me unusual reference points across psychology, somatics, agency, identity, and reintegration. It also means I’ve watched an entire field evolve in real time — from punitive models to harm reduction to modern integrative approaches.
Today, as I unmask and re-entrain as an autistic adult, I see clear parallels between those worlds. Much of what gets labeled as “neurodivergence,” “overstimulation,” “executive dysfunction,” or “behavioral issues” looks, to me, like a unified family of entrainment disorders — disruptions in how a nervous system synchronizes with its environment. My work tries to articulate that common root.
Professionally, I’ve spent 20+ years in entrepreneurship, music production, and private-equity-style operating roles. I’ve built companies, led deals, produced platinum-level creative work, and built frameworks to understand complex systems. And I've always crashed out in glorious fashion.
None of that made full sense until my autism diagnosis reframed how my cognition actually works: monotropism, pattern-thinking, somatic overloads, and a deep narrative/archetypal processing style.
This site is where I make sense of all of that — openly and in real time.
I write at the intersection of:
- Autistic cognition, entrainment, and somatic unmasking
- 4E cognition and externalized thinking
- Meaning-making and my Unified Field Theory of Meaning (UFTM)
- Trauma, agency, SUD recovery, and long-range reintegration patterns
- Complex systems, geopolitics, and cultural dynamics
- Myth, archetypes, and narrative structure
- Life with cognitive prosthetics (RyanGPT)
This is not a self-help site or a brand.
It’s a lab notebook: theory, lived experience, and emerging models of mind.
If you’re a researcher, clinician, systems thinker, or storyteller exploring cognition, trauma, extended mind theories, autism, or complex systems, I’m open to collaboration and conversation.
